MUSIC
I've been playing guitar for over 20 years, and writing and arranging music for almost that long. My mathematical background is surprisingly extremely useful in songwriting and recording. Currently, I'm in a Providence-based band called Wild Accusations. In March of 2019, we released our self-titled debut album, available anywhere you listen to music online. It has elicited such praise as, "Wow, you guys, Wild Accusations are actually really good," and "They remind me of Heart."

In addition to making music, I'm also interested in making and modifying the tools used to make music, primarily guitars. Recently I had the opportunity to write about one of my guitars for Premier Guitar magazine; you can read about that at the link.
If you're interested in instruments like I am, in the summer of 2019 the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City had an exhibition of musical instruments used by noted rock stars called Play It Loud: Instruments of Rock and Roll, which was fabulous (exhibition catalog available here). My only regret is that when I went, they did not have Micawber, one of Keith Richards' primary instruments; instead, its display case contained a note, reading simply, "This object is currently on tour with the Rolling Stones." |
